Yes and they are just as good as the dairy options. It's kind of amazing.
My favorite ice cream shop in the city. Here's why:The flavors. They use good ingredients, and you can taste it when you savor the flavors. The variety. (Especially of asian flavors) They have pandan, ube, black sesame, different kinds of green tea: hojicha, matcha, ... they have japanese milk tea, hong kong coffee, ... then they have tropical flavors like lillikoi, guava, and coconut (can you tell that I go here a lot?) They also have rotating seasonal flavors like pumpkin and more conventional flavors like strawberry, almond... they also have vegan ice cream! This is a place where you get quality over quantity. Worth it.Pictured: almond butter, pumpkin macadamia, and saffron rose. The saffron rose was DELICIOUS.
I really love all the flavors they have. Very Asian oriented if that's something you enjoy. They have flavors like ube, salty kaya, Thai tea, green tea, azuki, etc. The texture is really nice as well. Almost dense like a gelato and very creamy. :)
I can say this place does it for me. Fast and courteous service. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Feels similar to a cafe in Chicago I liked.
Ice cream is consistently good with an ever changing menu each time I come. I usually love their tea flavors that are made fresh. The staff is really friendly as well. I got the Kaya and matcha single. It's worth the wait. The unique flavors taste just like what you are expecting giving your tastebuds a fresh taste.
Been here twice. Always a line at the door. It's worth it though. They have ice cream flavours that you've never had in your life time. I love their Asian and tea influenced flavours.
Best ice cream in the city! Perfect creaminess, not overly sweet, unique flavors that change often, and kind staff!
Came here late on a cold Thursday night. They had some delicious ice cream. I got the velvet chocolate and cookies and cream in a waffle cone. Totally coming back to get more again soon!
Yummy ice cream (non-dairy & dairy) and the employees were friendly. There were 7 non-dairy flavors and I tasted most of them and they were all very good, with strong flavors and smooth textures. $4.50 will get you a "single" (in a cup, not a cone) which is 1-2 scoops (can be 2 different flavors) and this is plenty and seems like a decent deal. They have a small water cooler and a tidy single-stall restroom in the shop. We were there first ones in as it opened at 6pm, but we noticed they had a sign with instructions on which street the line should go down if it got that long... So I guess it gets pretty backed up.
Garden Creamery is hands down the best ice cream ever. It’s super creamy and I haven’t tried a flavor yet that I didn’t love. We make the trip over from the East Bay regularly as every other ice cream shop pales in comparison now! The owners and staff are lovely and make great recommendations of new flavors to try. My favorite is the Pandan Coconut!
I went here from a friend's recommendation and it did not disappoint. When we first entered, there was no line and the person helping us was super accommodating. From their suggestions we ended up trying about 10 different flavors, all of which were extremely delicious. My gf and I eventually ordered two scoops of the dairy free options and two scoops of regular ice cream along with the butter mochi. As we were paying, a huge rush of people came, but we were able to grab some of the few seats they have inside. Altogether it was very good and I'd definitely come back if I was in the area!
A must go if you’re ever in the mission. One of the best ice creameries I have ever been to. Hands down, my favorite ice cream spot in SF (so far). I went two days in a row after I was introduced to this place. The best part are their unique seasonal flavors. They currently have Chinese New Year inspired flavors and other asian inspired flavors including: red bean (SO GOOD), nian gao, kinako (also SO GOOD), and so much more. Everything just tasted SO GOOD. They really got the asian flavors down (making sure it’s not too sweet) and also managed to keep the ice cream super creamy with these flavors. The owner is super sweet and I’m so happy I found this place!
This place is awesome. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. There is a very diverse selection of ice cream, regular and coconut sweetened with agave. Restaurant was clean and the staff quickly processed customers without feeling rushed. I was hesitant to believe their rating with it being so high but they 100% deserve it.
Literally the best flavors ever. Also their dairy free options are incredible
The dairy free vegan options were delicious!
I was so super impressed by how well trained they are to handle food allergies. They grabbed a fresh scooper and a fresh container of ice cream so there was absolutely no chance of cross contamination. Watching them take my food allergy so seriously was refreshing and I wish that more places did this. They were also friendly when accommodating my allergy and didn't act the least bit annoyed. I will definitely be back!
This was a solid spot but not necessarily a spot I would insist on going again (if I was in the area, I would give it another look). The non-diary options seem to taste better than the diary options. I like Thai tea, so I went with that flavor but my friend’s ube (that I tried) may have been better. If you like dessert and sugar, like me, I’d say to give it a shot.
It's defenetly worth the waiting on line, grass fed organic milk and other great ingredients along with a great craftsmanship and what it seems to be a really good icecream maker hehehe the results are what you will comfortably will assume.... exceptional and delicious
The ice cream here was amazing! I got the Thai ice tea and black sesame. Each flavor was sweet but not overly sweet. Thai ice tea taste just like the drink smooth and not chunky. The black sesame was also delightful. It was not chalky and had a rich sesame flavor.
Delicious non dairy flavors available. Fast, friendly service with samples offered. I liked the dark chocolate non dairy. The guava was ok but maybe a bit too sweet. This place was busy on a Saturday night with the line out the door.
Had the Sencha and the Earl grey ice cream ina sugar cone. Waited twenty minutes in line but it was worth the wait. The ice cream was not overly sweet. It's creamy and tasted like the tea. Staff is really friendly and offered multiple samples without my request. Only down side is the street parking ðŸ™.
This place is awesome!! When you can't have gluten and dairy, you kind of come to expect that sometimes ice cream just won't be as tasty, but Garden Creamery turns that on its head! Their flavors are delicious and they have SO many options. I highly recommend checking them out.
They have special/limited edition flavors all the time. There’s currently 2 flavors with pluots that I’m obsessed with: one salted pluot sorbet and one with dairy. Their mango sticky rice (it’s dairy free with coconut milk) is a forever hit but i also love the coconut pandan - it’s my current favorite. If you like coffee, the Japanese milk coffee is fantastic
Really unique flavors. Definitely worth the trip. A little pricey but it's a high-touch product.
Holy moly this is good ice cream! Great flavors and the texture of the ice cream is amazing. On sat afternoons, special chimney cone option!
Amazed that they have 6 vegan flavors that aren't boring. The Thai iced tea is my favorite w coconut condensed milk 😋
This place was amazing. Great ice cream flavors and delicious mochi. I was a bit disappointed because some of the flavors I read about weren’t actually available... but I guess that’s just another reason to return!
Oh dang! The salted kaya ice cream is the business! Texture! Flavor! No nonsense!
Long and intimidating lines but it's ok when you have a friend, because it's worth it. Good ice cream, fair prices and a very friendly team!
This is a neighborhood delight! Fresh homemade ingredients. Oh... did I mention local too! The cacao nibs coated with chocolate were pretty damn tasty too. Chocolate sauce and brownie was scratch made as well. This place is almost as good as bi-rite. In some aspects better. This shop is a must visit!
The store itself is small with limited seating, but the flavor and topping combination options were plenty! I got a single serving of Thai tea ice cream with condensed milk drizzle and loved it. I found it cool that the Thai tea flavor was one of the dairy free options for those who may have dietary restrictions. I would love to come back to try other toppings like the butter mochi.
One of the best ice cream place in SF
A wondrous set of unique flavors. Japanese milk coffee? Yes please. A variety of unique fruit sorbets? Yes, of course. Chocolate that is so chocolate that it will ruin other chocolate ice cream. Why not?
Great place for well made fruit and Asian ice cream flavors. They can be a bit funky sounding, so try them before you buy. The lady was very nice and patient while I tried almost half the flavors before I chose three flavors for a "double" sized cup $6.75. The flavors were bright and the ice cream was nice and smooth. The calamansi lime and the strawberry ume were interesting and tasty. If you're in the area, you might as well try this place because parking nearby was impossible for us. I jumped out of the car to try the ice cream and buy a three scoop cup while my partner stayed in the car in a random non-parking spot by the alley.
The flavors here are amazing. Normally at ice cream shops you have Asian flavors sprinkled in here and there but this spot had a wide variety. I ordered the salted pluot and Hong Kong milk tea, which tasted true to their name. I love how their single scoop can be split and the size of the scoops are small, thus not overwhelming. I would definitely come again.
Tried their Matcha , Ube, dark chocolate and Thai tea. Loved them all. I really like their choice of flavors.
This is a famous icecream shop that is not located on the main road, but became popular through word of mouth and reviews. It has many Asian inspired flavours like plum, taro, black sesame, hojicha, etc. You can get a kids scoop for $4, single scoop (with up to 2 flavours) for $5, and a double scoop (with up to 3 flavors). We went today when it was kind of cool outside but there was still a line so I imagine it can get quite busy when the weather is nice.
Garden Creamery is a relatively new addition to San Francisco's ice cream scene, but it's already become a favorite of many, including myself. There's a lot of to love about Garden Creamery: the great owners, friendly staff, the amazing selection of dairy flavors drawn from both the bay area and Hawaii, and the large selection of non-dairy flavors that taste so good, I order them sometimes even though I love my milk and cream. But the real beauty of Garden Creamery is the texture: smooth but just icy enough to not feel cloying, rich but not heavy, and just barely melting as you lick on a hot day. Nobody else compares.
Local ice cream spot that is pretty darn delicious. They have seasonal flavors and I think it is meant to mimic Asian flavors or from Hawaii. Located right next door to where the old Lexington used to be. One of my favorite seasonal flavors is Hong Kong Milk Tea and they have a few other flavors in honor of Chinese New Years.
Their ice cream is not too sweet and not too creamy, which really lets the wonderfully creative fruit and tea and herbal flavors shine through. A bit of a line can form when it’s warm or on the weekends, but the staff has the magic ability to keep it moving efficiently while also not rushing anyone when it’s their turn to order. I really appreciate how patient they are with letting people try out the many amazing flavors.
I love their ice cream. Many different and exotic flavors. People are supper friendly and you can taste as many as you wish. They also have the option to get small cup with two flavors. I highly recommend this place and will come back.
One of the rare ice cream places in Bay area that regularly has fresh fruit flavors without the use of essences or colors. Their fruit flavors are seasonally rotating though, so you find many of them in the winter. They even write the names of local farms where their fruits are sources from. The ice cream itself was fantastic, the fruit flavors come forth without getting too sweet. Kudos!
Salted plum and strawberry li hing! Always delicious seasonal flavors here. Flavors are spot on and well balanced. A true SF treat.
I went for the doughnut cone but apparently they aren't making them anymore! The ice cream was very good so it was still worth the trip.
#gardencreamery is Great ice cream place in #missiondistrict of #sanfrancisco. They have great staff and you can try the flavors Has it’s unique flavors ... for this trip I had seasonal flavors #candycanelane #pumpkinCrack #machitaGold #mintchocolate.#sfeats #sficecreamery #sflove #lovesf #sfdesserts #sfrestaurants #tryThisinSF #bayareafoodie #bayareafoodie
Friendly staff, interesting flavors. Usually the line is out the door, but it moves pretty quick.
My favorite ice cream spot in the city! Love all the flavors & they have a lot of non-dairy options too. The owner, Erin, is from Hawaii so she always has some unique/tropical and amazing flavors. She is super nice too! On Saturdays they make and serve chimney cones (between 2-4pm).
Ok this is the best icecream I have had in bay area, but still compared to other ice cream u can get in italy or asia, this really doesn't stand out compared to industrial ice cream u get from grocery stores. Definitely add the butter mochi
Unique tropical sweet and savory flavors. Sample and find a flavor you like, then ask them to pick a complementary flavor the scone scoop!
The employees are totally cool! My friend and I got to taste all the flavors. The guy behind to counter was so nice! I ended up getting a trifecta of deliciousness because I couldn't decide. I got the brownie, goat cheese, and green creepy crawly- with real chocolate covered bugs because I was feeling very brave. It was absolutely delicious!
Delicious. Lots of fun flavors. My new favorites: Hoji-cha (roasted macha) and Hong Kong milk tea.
